- Pay: $170k-$190k

What we’re doing
We believe that people should own their financial identity and use it with any app or service they want, whenever they need. Accessing, maintaining, and mixing-and-matching Web2 and Web3 services must be easier, more transparent, and more trustworthy.
Portabl enables consumers to simplify how their own users verify, organize, and sync identity data and documents across their whole financial lives. The goal: universal financial identity for all.
By leaning on new standards in verifiable credentials and decentralized identity we will deliver a portable identity that works for anyone. Getting this right means we can simplify and automate many parts of the identity/ KYC/ compliance stack that currently prevent the financial system from being more cost-effective, more inclusive, and more equitable.
Who we are
We’re a small team comprised of Web2 and Web3 veterans hailing from Consensys, Paypal, US Mobile, Ava Labs, and other corners of the fintech and regtech universe who share a common goal of making identity more standardized, composable, and easier to use across the financial services space.
We recognize that transforming digital identity has many challenges, which is why we value trust, curiosity, empathy, and craft. If this sounds like you, and you're excited by the idea of getting in at the ground level and building the infrastructure for the future of the financial identity, we would love to hear from you!
We’ve raised funds from top-tier early stage investors in both Web2 and Web3 including...
- Harlem Capital
- 6th Man Ventures
- Bessemer Venture Partners
- Dorm Room Fund
- PearVC
We are 1 of only 5 companies recognized by Plaid in 2022 as part of the next generation of startups shaping the future of financial access. We are thrilled to be participating in Plaid’s 6-month Accelerate Program
What you'll do
As our lead front-end engineer, you will join a team that’s using the latest developments in decentralized identity to make financial access more transparent and more trustworthy for people using both traditional financial institutions and DeFi providers.
You will...

- create trustworthy, reliable user experiences for millions of consumers by building interfaces that are simple and easy to comprehend.
- build, test, and ship new user-facing code with modern tools (including reusable components and frontend libraries).

We are an early-stage startup, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity and has a strong desire to work both autonomously and in groups. You will have a ton of say and impact on the direction and future of our company and will help solve some of the biggest challenges we’ll face.
🤔 Not sure this fits you but want to talk? That’s okay! We prioritize potential and willingness to learn above all, so if you don’t think that you fit one of our listings, we encourage you to apply anyway and your application will be considered fairly.
